U.S., Castro Agree On Refugee Airlift

President Johnson announced Saturday that the United States will airlift 3,000 to 4,000 Cuban refugees a month to this country under an agreement with the Castro regime. First priority will be given to the immediate or close relatives of 250,000 Cubans now living in the United States.

Vets Day Parade

Plans for a gigantic parade to honor U.S. servicemen serving in Viet Nam appear to be "snowballing to success" American Legion parade chairman Frank V. Bond said Saturday. Gov. Carl Sanders has promised to proclaim Nov. 11 as Viet Nam Day in recognition and Columbus Mayor B. Ed Johnson, Third District Rep. Howard (Bo) Callaway and Fort Benning's commanding general, Maj. Gen. Robert H. Yoke, have promised to participate, Legion officials said.

Editor Injured

Ledger--Enquirer Assistant Sports Editor Paul Cox sustained minor back injuries Saturday morning during a drizzling rain when his car skidded off the highway near Goodwater, Ala. The editor was en route to the Auburn--Mississippi State football contest held in Birmingham Saturday afternoon.
