'Pep' Pill Use Uncovered at UGA
The Athens Daily News said today its reporters have turned up evidence of widespread use of so-called "pep" pills by students at the University of Georgia. One student, whose identity was not disclosed, estimated that seven out of 10 students had used the pills at one time or another during examination periods.
Bo Rips Fed Power
The increasing concentration of power in the executive branch of federal government was criticized by Rep. Howard (Bo) Callaway in a speech Thursday night before the Advertising Club of Columbus. Callaway said that with the executive branch in control, there is no system of checks and balances.
Third Party
A new political party has been approved by the Alabama secretary of state's office and its organizer says the goal is the election of Gov. George C. Wallace as president in 1968. A former Republican, Julian Elgin of Montgomery, heads the new group, called the "Third Party of America."
