Whisky Tax Will Be Countywide
A higher tax on wine, whisky and beer -- same as approved Monday by Columbus City Commission -- is going to apply all the way to the Muscogee County line. Muscogee County Commission today voted to take "parallel action" with the city in regard to the tax on alcoholic beverages.

It may be a long way off, but Columbus is beginning to think of taking the rapid transit road to solving future transportation problems. City Commission Monday told City Manager Ralph Sayers to start looking into the idea.
