Parents out of work seek help with gifts
If you want to help a family in need this Christmas, we've got still got plenty of Holiday Help letters for you to choose from.
Those letters include one from a construction worker and his wife who are both out of work. They are requesting Christmas gifts for their children, a 12-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy. "They are not hard to please and love just about anything," they write.
The premise of our program is simple: People in need write letters describing their plight, and people with plenty choose letters and then help the people in need.
To see the letters and make a selection, stop by our lobby on the first floor of the Hardaway Building at 945 Broadway from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Wednesday, and 8:30 a.m. to noon on Christmas Eve.
If you have an abundance, we hope you'll consider helping.
The Ledger-Enquirer does not screen letters, nor can it guarantee their truthfulness.
Happy holidays from the Ledger-Enquirer!
