City Commission Has Project 'Key'

The Columbus City Commission and local civic clubs apparently hold the key now to limited access on the Manchester Expressway.

State highway officials are studying resolutions by the Muscogee Commission, the Jaycees, the Chamber of Commerce and the South Columbus Merchants Assn.

Death Penalty

The American Civil Liberties Union has criticized the Fulton County grand jury for holding no public hearings before opposing abolition of the death penalty in Georgia.

The jurors' presentment, said the ACLU in a statement, was "a pale reflection of the opinions of the Fulton County solicitor's office."
