Klan Threatened Violence, Death
The owner of a Bogalusa, La., radio station said today Ku Klux Klan members threatened violence and death after he and others invited former Rep. Brooks Hays of Arkansas to speak there.
Long Service Noted
"All of us are mighty proud of you," county commission Chairman J.R. Allen told W.J. Long Tuesday as the county engineer marked his 40th year of service.
Battle Deaths Soar
U.S. battle deaths in Viet Nam shot up by nearly 1,000 percent over 1964, Defense Department figures showed.
A total of 1,365 American servicemen were killed in 1965.
