Vows Court Fight

Fulton County Rep.-elect Julian Bond voluntarily stepped aside while 203 House Members took the Oath of Office this morning, but promised a court fight if necessary to gain his seat in the legislative body.

River Panel

The Control Committee of the Chattahoochee River Basin Development Commission was to meet at 3 p.m. today at the conference room of West Point Foundry and Machine Co. Shaefer Heard, chairman, recently said he is in favor of pushing for the building of dams at Franklin and Newnan.

Expressway

A delegation of city and county officials and community leaders will go to Atlanta Wednesday to present in person a request to the State Highway Department that limited access on the Columbus-Manchester Expressway be extended for 1.223 miles.
