Ex-Gov. Patterson Will Seek 2nd Term
Alabama's quadrennial political free-for-all burst wide open today as former Gov. John Patterson qualified to run for a second term as the state's chief executive amid reports that he will be opposed by Gov. George C. Wallace's wife, Lurleen. Russell County poll tax receipts currently are running at an estimated all time high, Russell Tax Collector Bill Brown reported late Tuesday afternoon.
