Agents Destroy Big Still Setup

Treasury agents swooped down on one of the largest moonshine operations in southwest Georgia Wednesday afternoon near Americus.

They arrested one man and destroyed a distillery capable of producing almost 50,000 gallons of poisonous liquor per month.

Airport Funds

The Senate Appropriations Committee has approved Gov. Carl Sanders' request that funds be budgeted for expansion of the State Farmers Market and the construction of a new industrial airport in Columbus.

Enlistment Ban

A new order restricting enlistment of draftees in the National Guard and Reserves is aimed at halting the siphoning of men available for filling draft quotas, defense officials said today.
