Columbus State softball wins pair of games in Cougar Classic on Sunday

The Columbus State softball team won a pair of games Sunday in the Cougar Classic, 9-4 over Lincoln Memorial and 5-1 over Miles.

CSU rallied from a 2-0 deficit in the win over Lincoln Memorial. Kia Smith drove in three runs, and Calli Star knocked in a pair. Rachel Rhodes had three hits.

Sydney Barker (3-1) picked up the win in relief. pitching the final five innings. She allowed two runs on four hits.

Katie Smith hit a homer and drove in four runs in the win over Miles.

Peyton Sorrells (4-1) earned the win.

CSU (7-4) plays a doubleheader at Georgia Southwestern at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
