School Aid Cut May Hit Here

School officials in four districts surrounding Fort Benning are keeping a nervous watch on congressional efforts to block the President's proposed cut in "impact area" aid to education.

And today it came out that Muscogee County now stands to lose a full $1 million in impact funds next year.

State Sen. Render Hill of Greenville said Tuesday he has become convinced from conversations with Congressman Howard (Bo) Callaway that the Republican lawmaker will run for governor this year.

Brinkley Praised

Muscogee County Rep. Jack Brinkley received a citation for "outstanding services" during the recent Georgia House of Representatives session.

Brinkley was honored for his work as chairman of the local affairs committee.
