Columbus State swept a doubleheader over Saginaw Valley for the second straight day at Burger King Stadium.
Columbus State scored six runs in the fourth inning of both games and went on to win both games 7-4.
Justin Evans had the big blow in Game 1, hitting a three-run homer. Mike McClellan, who doubled in a run in the first, singled in the final run of the fourth.
Brandon Koehler went the distance, allowing four runs on five hits in seven innings. He struck out eight.
Christian Miller had a three-run double in the fourth inning of Game 2. McClellan also drove in two runs in the game.
Jacob Boccucci (1-0) pitched the first four innings and picked up the win. He gave up one run on three hits.
CSU plays Tuskegee in Montgomery on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Georgia 5, Wright State 1
ATHENS, Ga. — Connor Jones and Drew Moody combined on a three-hitter as Georgia beat Wright State 5-1 on Sunday afternoon at Foley Field.
The win gave Georgia (8-4) the 2-1 series win over Wright State (6-6).
Jones have up one hit over the first 4 2-3 innings. Moody was perfect until the ninth when he allowed a pair of hits.
Stephen Wrenn led the Dogs going 3-for-5 with two RBIs.
Georgia heads on the road to face Charlotte on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Georgia Tech 4, Western Carolina 3
ATLANTA — Georgia Tech improved to 11-0 with a 4-3 victory over Western Carolina on Sunday at Russ Chandler Stadium.
Wade Bailey, Connor Justus and Matt Gonzalez each had RBI singles in a three-run second inning that gave the Jackets a 4-1 lead.
Jonathan Hughes earned the win. He pitched the first six innings, allowing two runs — one earned — on five hits.
The Jackets play at Auburn on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. The game will be televised on the SEC Network.
Alabama 2, Brown 0
CARY, N.C. — Alabama scored a pair of runs in the ninth inning to edge Brown 2-0 on Sunday on the final day of the USA Baseball-Irish Classic.
Alabama finished the three-day tournament 3-1. The Tide is 10-2 overall.
Ray Castillo (Russell County) started and allowed one hit in four innings.
Chance Vincent drove in a run with a sacrifice fly for the first run of the ninth. Connor Short drove in the second with a single.
Alabama hosts Oregon Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
Southern Miss 3, Auburn 1
MOBILE, Ala. — Southern Miss limited Auburn to just one run in a 3-1 victory over the Tigers on Sunday in the Cox Diamond Classic.
Jordan Ebert went 3-for-4 and drove in the Tigers’ lone run. Auburn managed just seven hits.
Cole Lipscomb (1-1) took the tough loss. He allowed two runs on two hits in 6 2-3 innings. He struck out eight.
Auburn (6-6) plays at Georgia Tech on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. The SEC Network will televise the game.
