Will Delta-8 and Delta-10 show up on a drug test? Here’s what to know.
Delta-10 has entered the chat.
Now we’ve got -8, -9 and -10 and while it’s easy to count them, it’s not so easy to know which is which and what they are.
While we’ve seen Delta-9 hanging out illegally, Delta-8 has reached an all-time high (no pun intended) in popularity and now, it seems Delta-10 is cashing in as well.
Before you get confused, let’s study up:
What is Delta-10?
Delta-10, similar to Delta-8, is a natural chemical found in cannabis plants that can be extracted and converted into synthetic cannabinoids. This can then be made into oil or put into products like gummies for consumption.
How is Delta-10 different from Delta-8?
While the two chemicals are highly similar, there is a slight difference.
According to Amber Smith at Discover Magazine, “Delta 10 THC has been found to be less potent than the Delta 8 THC while still providing you with that psychoactive component you’re used to with THC. Many people find that Delta 10 THC is preferred because it doesn’t lead to anxiety and paranoia like other cannabinoids might.”
Typical side effects of all THC cannabinoids, including Delta-8 and Delta-10, are red eyes, dry mouth, increased appetite and slow reaction time.
Is Delta-10 harmful?
Neither Delta-8 nor Delta-10 is regulated, so there is little research on the safety of the substances. They are also not currently FDA approved.
Is it legal?
Delta-10 is legal in some states, but other states have laws against synthetic cannabinoids; however, there is a gray area since it comes from hemp. Overall, it’s legality could change as it becomes more popular and is seen by more lawmakers.
Will Delta-8 and Delta-10 show up on a drug test?
Short answer: yes, they will.
Delta-8 and Delta-10 are derived from hemp and they do contain THC, which will be flagged in most urine drug tests.
