Criminal counts against Sen. Ted Stevens Count One: Scheme Stevens knowingly and willfully concealed facts - by engaging in a scheme - about gifts from and liabilities to Bill Allen and Veco from 2000 to 2006. According to the judge's instructions, the statute of limitations requires the scheme must have been concluded on or after May 9, 2002. Because Stevens signed his 2001 disclosure on May 15, 2002, he missed having that report excluded under the statute of limitations by six days. Count 1 violations specific to 2000 and 2001 which are not charged in subsequent counts: -- 2000. Threshold for reporting a gift: $260. Using Veco's architect and drawings; demolition of the mud room using some Veco employees; Veco hiring Christensen Builders and approving their invoices; Veco efforts in preparing the house jacking; altogether, $81,775 in Veco's materials, labor, architectural designs, services and other costs. -- 2001. Threshold for reporting a gift: $260. First three months of 2001: Veco spent $110,000 in materials, labor, and other costs; total project from 2000-2001 entailed new first-floor addition with two bedrooms and a bathroom; adding garage with workshop; second-story wrap-around deck; Veco installed electrical, plumbing, framing, heating and flooring materials; Veco employees purchased and installed fixtures and furnishings. Verdict: Guilty Count Two: False statements Stevens knowingly and willingly made two false statements on May 15, 2002, on his 2001 disclosure forms. Threshold for reporting a gift in 2001: $260. Gifts from: Bill Allen, Veco Corp., Robert Persons and Bob Penney. Liabilities to: Bill Allen, Veco Corp., Robert Persons and Robert Penney. Gifts: -- First three months of 2001: $110,153.64 in in materials, labor, and other costs of renovation (p 8, indictment) -- Big furniture, including the black sofa, the easy chair and other chairs -- New tool cabinet with new tools -- New professional Viking gas grill -- Stained glass window from Bob Penney/Penco Properties: $3,000 for glass, $200 for frame, total $3,200 -- Massage chair from Bob Persons worth about $2,700. Verdict: Guilty Count Three: False statements Stevens knowingly and willingly made two false statements on May 13, 2003, on his 2002 disclosure forms. Threshold for reporting a gift in 2002: $260. Gifts from: Bill Allen, Veco Corp., Robert Penney and others. Liabilities to: Bill Allen, Veco. Corp., Robert Penney and others. Gifts: -- First-floor wraparound deck -- Plastic roof above the bottom deck so people could stand out there in the rain and not get wet. -- Heat tape system on roof. -- Installation and partial removal of rope lighting on multiple portions of property lower deck, rope lighting, fish statue, heat tape Verdict: Guilty Count Four: False statements Stevens knowingly and willingly made three false statements on May 17, 2004 on his 2003 disclosure forms. Threshold for reporting a gift in 2003: $285. Gifts from: Kenai River Sport Fishing Association, Bill Allen, Veco. Liabilities to: Bill Allen and Veco. Gifts: -- Keely, the white-haired, blue-eyed sled dog purchased by Bob Penney at the Kenai River Classic Auction. -- Repairs to house by Veco. Verdict: Guilty Count Five: False statements Stevens knowingly and willingly made two false statements on May 16, 2005, on his 2004 disclosure forms. Threshold for reporting a gift in 2004: $305. Gifts from: Bill Allen and Veco. Liabilities to: Bill Allen and Veco. Gifts: -- Installation of multiple kitchen appliances -- Maintenance of heat-tape system Verdict: Guilty Count Six: False statements Stevens knowingly and willingly made two false statements on May 15, 2006 on his 2005 disclosure forms. Threshold for reporting a gift in 2005: $305. Gifts from: Bill Allen and Veco. Liabilities to: Bill Allen and Veco. Gifts: -- Roof and gutter repairs -- Electrical wiring -- Replacement of sensors on heat-tape system Verdict: Guilty Count Seven: False statements Stevens knowingly and willingly made two false statements on July 17, 2007, on his 2006 disclosure forms. (Note: he had an extension from the May 15 filing deadline.) Threshold for reporting a gift in 2006: $305. Gifts from: Bill Allen and Veco. Liabilities to: Bill Allen and Veco. Gifts: -- Inspection and repair of boiler and heating system (Indictment p 10) Verdict: Guilty
