Columbus Museum hosts Blast from the Past party Friday

For one night only, “blast from the past” generates images more pleasant than receiving a Facebook friend request from your ex.

The Columbus Museum on Friday will hold a Blast from the Past party featuring drinks, snacks and music from the Good Times Band.

The Columbus Contemporaries, a young professionals group from the museum, will host the 21-and-older party. Guests are encouraged to wear ’50s attire. Party goers can purchase tickets in advance or at the door.

You’ll dance the night away while forgetting the awkwardness that usually surrounds social time travel.

You know, like how long-expired former flings somehow always seem to resurface only when you’re finally happy in a new relationship.

Not to mention your constant failure to successfully model the bell bottoms that fashion magazines always vow are back in style.

Returning to the past isn’t always a blast. But with the right music and companions, testing the limits of space and time can generate timeless memories.
