The newly reinvented After 5 Sports Bar & Grill might lead you to slap yo mama.
Wait, that’s a good thing.
We’ll clarify. A trip inside the Gentian Boulevard hot spot might lead you to discover Slap Yo Mama seasoning, one of the many wing offerings on the menu.
After 5 has been open since 2007, but earlier this month the 21-and-older venue reopened with a focus on attracting sports fans.
The result? A place where flat-screen TVs cover the interior, bartenders wear referee getups and guests take advantage of football viewing party specials.
Also, owners expanded the menu to include food offerings like chili dogs, scramble dogs and Philly sandwiches. You’ll pay about $7-$8 for a combo meal.
The venue is open every day except Sunday and offers most major sporting events through cable and DirecTV.
There are daily specials — including poker (6 p.m. Friday and Saturday), karaoke (Wednesday) and college game day on Saturday with $2 draft beer and $5 steak or chicken Philly sandwiches.
Need a cocktail recommendation? Fans of sweet drinks should try the Jolly Rancher cocktail. After 5 Sports Bar & Grill also offers $3 margaritas on Wednesdays.
