Driving through downtown Eufaula sometimes feels like stepping back in time.
But while the historic buildings that line the streets are eye-catching from the outside, glimpsing inside the homes is often more impressive.
The Eufaula Pilgrimage, a tour of homes and gardens in Eufaula, Ala., will take place this weekend March 30 through Sunday, April 1.
There are 11 homes and three gardens open to tour; tickets can be purchased for each individual location or for the entire tour.
A selection of homes will be open for daylight tours, with the rest open for candlelight tours.
In addition to the home and garden tours, there will also be an Antique Show and Sale, an Art Show and Sale, a garden market, local musicians and authors, a talent showcase, food vendors and more.
Pam Snead, executive director of the Eufaula Heritage Association, said this is the association's major fundraiser for the year and all funds are used to maintain Shorter Mansion.
Snead said there will also be a new tug boat commissioned on Friday that will be open for free tours all weekend.
