Furniture retailer closing 15 Georgia stores and all others nationwide. What to know
If you’re looking to buy furniture at a discount price, this might be your chance.
American Freight is currently closing all locations due to Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
“Everything must go--All our retail locations across the country are closing,” the store posted on social media.
The Ohio-based retailer has 328 locations nationwide, but before the store closes its doors for good, it will offer hefty discounts on living room furniture, bedroom sets, dining tables and more. Even “a selection of scratch and dent and new-in-box appliances” will be discounted to sell.
So, are there any locations in Georgia and when will the stores officially close? Here’s what to know:
American Freight Georgia locations
There are 15 Georgia stores, in locations such as Macon, Dublin, Columbus and more. Here’s a full list:
Macon: 2525 Pio Nono Ave, Suite 1100
Columbus: 1627 S. Lumpkin Road
Dublin: 116B Hillcrest Pkwy
Athens: 3190 Atlanta Hwy
Decatur: 1960 B. Candler Road
Conyers: 425 Sigman Road NW, Suite 105-106
Albany: 2304 N. Slappey Blvd
Stone Mountain: 5370 U.S. Hwy 78, Suite 400
Rome: 2502 Shorter Ave NW
Augusta: 1708 Wylds Road
Savannah: 15000 Abercorn Street
Marietta: 1075 Cobb Pkwy SE
Norcross: 6796-A Jimmy Carter Blvd
Morrow: 1230 Mt Zion Road
Douglasville: 5834 Fairburn Road
All sales are being managed by Hilco Consumer-Retail and customers are urged to quickly grab up what they want.
“Our goal is to deliver outstanding value to customers during this full chain closing sale,” Hilco Consumer-Retail CEO Ian Fredericks said. “Everything is on sale and must be sold.”
It is unclear exactly when the store will fully close up, but Fredericks said new inventory is still arriving, but will be gone fast.
