Which grocery stores & shops will be open on Thanksgiving Day in Columbus? See full list

Turkey Day is almost here, so it’s time to stock up on your grocery items for Thanksgiving dinner because some stores will close early and some may not be open at all.

Here’s what to know:

Which businesses will be closed in Columbus?

Banks, government offices, libraries and schools are all closed for the holiday. USPS, UPS and FedEx will also not run on the holiday.

Will grocery stores be open?

Open stores include:

  • Kroger (closing early, check your local store)

  • Whole Foods

  • Dollar General

  • Walgreens and CVS will have adjusted hours, so check with your local stores. Pharmacies will still be open.

Which grocery stores will be closed?

Walmart, Publix, Sam’s Club, Target, ALDI, Costco and Trader Joe’s will all be closed for Thanksgiving.

What about liquor stores?

Most liquor stores will be open in the Columbus area on Thanksgiving. However, some may close early, so it is best to call ahead to make sure.

Will retail shops be open?

Bass Pro Shops and Big Lots will stay open on Thanksgiving, but most other major retailers will be closed for the holiday and in preparation for Black Friday.
