Some dogs go for a certain kind of person. It could be that they love everyone who looks like Mom. For some, it's all humans who are willing to give out pets. But for this Golden Retriever's personality, well, he absolutely adores the ladies.

As the caption tells us, "Joey loves girls, and girls love Joey." Appropriately set to the tune of the now classic "Mambo No. 5," Joey meets dozens of women in this clip and greets all of them enthusiastically. Of course, they all pamper him to the max!

The top comment from @Crew gave us an excellent take by posting a pic of Ryan Gosling as Ken. An apt comparison indeed. @samoyatjohnson got into his head with, "He's like, 'Ladies, ladies, ladies. There's one of me, and you all have to share.'" Somehow, all the ladies in the video manage to get their scritches in. Finally, @JMac nailed it with, "He's exactly where he wants to be." Good boy!

Why Dogs Prefer Women

It's not just Joey! Research says many dogs prefer women, though, of course, this is highly individual. Most dogs will choose their humans regardless of gender. But overall, brain scans show some inclination toward the ladies, as Joey likes to think of them.

It's all because of baby talk. Many people, even pet people, find this voice grating. Dogs live for it! "Turns out, the sing-song voice-referred to as exaggerated prosody by the study authors-employed when speaking to a small child with limited linguistic competence, typically in order to get their attention, works just as well on the family pet," according to an article about the research in the New York Post.

It may come down to women generally having higher-pitched voices or being more likely to use the baby voice. This speech pattern definitely works on my two Chihuahuas, who will respond to just about any words with happy hops, assuming they're spoken to in the right tone.

In the case of Joey, it seems he's just decided to adore women across the board, regardless of what they say to him.
