Golden Retriever Claims the Wind Blew Her Into the Pool, but Mom's Not Buying It

Water is like a magnet for a Golden Retriever-no matter how hard they try, they just can't resist going for a swim. Pearl had been waiting all winter for her new pool to be ready, and a few days ago, she decided she'd waited long enough. At that point, nothing Mom said was going to keep her out of the water.

Pearl and her Golden Retriever sister Poppi are a beautiful pair of pups who share their daily lives on TikTok, with a little help from their paw-rents, of course! In a recently posted video (@pearlgoldengirl), the excited duo can be seen eagerly checking on their new backyard pool, and let's just say... Pearl decided it was ready for use.

Do you think the wind blew her in? She pleads not guilty she can BARELY wait. #pool#goldenretriever#funnydog

As the pup inches closer to the edge of the water, Mom says, "Pearl, not today." Seeing that it was not the answer the Golden Retriever was looking for, she chose to ignore it!

At first, she's just sticking her little toe beans into the water, testing it for swim-ability, of course. Then, all of a sudden, a huge gust of wind comes out of nowhere and blows her right into the water... not really! The Golden Retriever gently eases herself in after deciding that the pool is, in fact, ready today.

Mom laughs in the background. Obviously, she knew there was no convincing Pearl to stay out of the water... it was just too tempting! After the pup takes a quick dip in the pool, she hops out with a smile on her face, gives a good shake, and is clearly very pleased with the pool's progress!

Did Pearl Have Any Regrets?

Absolutely not! The sweet Golden Retriever was happy as a clam, even as Mom had to blow-dry her in the garage afterward. It was clear to see that Pearl was very pleased with her decision to go for a swim.

I don't know what it is about dogs and water. My pups freak out when it's bath day, but a pool full of water and they're all in! It's one of life's great mysteries!
