The Bernie Mac Show Leaves Netflix on July 1, 2026: Binge Before It's Gone!

Netflix users are about to lose the chance to enjoy one of the most creative and consistently funny shows. The 2000s sitcom with a passionate cult following, The Bernie Mac Show, is leaving the streaming service soon. Find out how much time is left to binge the series.

The Bernie Mac Show Is Leaving Netflix on July 1, 2026

On June 3, 2026, What's on Netflix published an article detailing movies and TV shows that will be departing the streaming service during July 2026. That report noted that The Bernie Mac Show will leave Netflix on July 1. That gives the series' fans and first-time viewers less than a month to stream the sitcom before it is gone.

The Bernie Mac Show was a sitcom that aired on Fox between November 14, 2001, and April 14, 2006. While the show was successful enough to last for five seasons, it never became a ratings behemoth. In fact, TV Series Finale reported that its final season was ranked 127th out of 156 shows in the ratings that year.

Even though it wasn't one of the most-watched sitcoms on television, The Bernie Mac Show was special enough to develop a devoted cult following. That is why Parade named it on a list of the best shows to watch as a family as recently as April 2026, and Medium labeled the show an "underrated, timelessly funny gem." The series was also funny enough to win an Emmy Award when Bernie Mac received Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series. The sitcom was also nominated for another four Emmy Awards.

A What's on Netflix report from June 2025 revealed exactly why The Bernie Mac Show will be gone from the streaming service soon. The article noted that licensing agreements for Disney shows ensured they would only be on Netflix for 18 months. Those deals have led to other shows already leaving, including How I Met Your Mother, Reba, White Collar, Archer, Lost, Prison Break, and This is Us. Now it will soon be The Bernie Mac Show's time to leave. According to the article, Home Improvement will exit for the same reason one month later, on August 1.
