Furniture Flipper Thrifts 18 Mismatched Nightstands and Flips Them All at Same Time
If you're like me and you watch a lot of furniture flipping videos, you know that creators typically flip just one piece or set of furniture at a time. So when I came across a video of a furniture flipper refurbishing a whopping 18 nightstands at once, I was immediately hooked.
Fortunately for us curious viewers, the creator shared a detailed video of her process, along with stats on how much money she made from selling the nightstands. Curious to see how this creator's massive project turned out? Keep reading!
This Furniture Flipper Remodeled 18 Nightstands at Once
Katie Flips It, known as @flipingwithkatie on TikTok, had the idea that flipping multiple items at once might be more efficient than flipping one item at a time.
"I thrifted 18 mismatched nightstands to flip in an assembly line, to find out how much money I can make flipping furniture if I'm really efficient at it," she explained in her video.
Katie spent a total of $569 on all 18 secondhand night tables - and once she got them all safely home, she started prepping all 18 nightstands. She cleaned them all, sanded them all, then did any necessary repairs and built and installed bases.
Once all 18 bedside tables were prepped, Katie paired them off into nine sets, most of which included mismatched nightstands. But then, she got started spray painting, which helped make pairs of mismatched nightstands look uniform, turning them into matching sets.
"I did the white and the black sets at the same time, and that was super efficient," she said.
Then, she moved onto the night tables that she wanted to retain a natural wood look. For these, she used a spray-on primer followed by a brush-on wood stain that is meant to help make faux wood look like real wood.
Once all of the paint and wood stains had dried, Katie installed all the drawer pulls. Finally, she moved onto staging and photographing the nightstands. Then, she listed them for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

Katie Made a Solid Profit Flipping and Selling All 18 Nightstands
At the end of the video, Katie shared a detailed breakdown of her costs for the project. She spent $990 on materials (including the $569 she paid for the secondhand nightstands), and she sold all 18 nightstands for a revenue of $3,460. That means her profit on the entire project was $2,470.
Katie spent 101 hours of labor on this project, meaning her hourly profit was around $24 per hour.
This approach to flipping furniture for a profit was so interesting, and I'm curious to see if Katie will continue flipping batches of furniture at once!
