LeBron James Channels His Inner Cosmo Kramer in Controversial Video

LeBron James can't catch a break.

While on vacation somewhere presumably across the pond, the NBA legend was seen on video hitting golf balls into the ocean. The 42-year-old posted those videos himself on his Instagram Story this week, sparking outrage.

LeBron can be seen practicing his swing on the edge of what appears to be a yacht or large boat. He takes a few practice swings before launching the ball into the ocean.

It's unclear where he is, but some guessed Faraglioni di Capri in the Gulf of Naples. In any event, fans fumed over his "apparent lack of concern for the environment."

One X user replied to the video saying, "Apparently worrying about the [SIC] enviorment is solely the responsibility of those who dont have money Once you are rich you can whatever you please."

As the New York Post reported, biodegradable golf balls are available if you want to hit them into the ocean, but there are skeptics.

"I know bros using prov1 and not those biodegradable balls," The Post quoted an X user.

The Seinfeld fan account, Relevant Seinfeld, compared LeBron's antics to Kramer's in Season 5, Episode 14 of "The Marine Biologist" episode, in which Kramer tees off on the edge of the beach and nails a hole-in-one when the ball lands in the blowhole of a whale.

Seinfeld fanatics will remember that George Costanza (Jason Alexander) was forced to pretend to be a marine biologist to impress a former college crush, who called his bluff and forced George to go into the ocean and save the struggling whale.

George hilariously exclaims at the end of the episode, "The sea was angry that day, my friends. -- like an old man trying to send back soup in a deli."

In LeBron's case, the people are just angry.
