Fort Benning Flea Market
The Fort Benning Flea Market will be held 8 a.m.-2 p.m. February 24 at Stilwell Field on Main Post, which also coincides with the post-wide yard sale. There is no charge for admission and it is open to the public, rain or shine. Yard sales will be located throughout neighborhoods all across the installation. Flea market space is also available to the public. Rentals start at $15; tables and chairs are also available for rent. Space is limited to roughly 200 booths. Shoppers who do not have military identification should access the post via the 185 gate and stop at the Visitors Center for a temporary access pass (a process that may take half an hour). The Way Down Film Society
The Way Down Film Society will meet February 21 at Troy University-Phenix City at 1510 Whitewater Avenue. Meet-and-greet begins at 6 p.m. with the program for the evening beginning at 6:30 p.m. The film will be the 1951 classic “Ace in the Hole” starring Kirk Douglas. Written and directed by Billy Wilder, the film takes a hard, cynical look at the news media and is as relevant today as it was over 60 years ago. Free and open to the public. Celebrate Fort Benning’s 100th Anniversary
See history come alive like you’ve never see it before. There will be a community-wide celebration of Fort Benning’s 100th anniversary February 24, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the National Infantry Museum. Living historians will be stationed throughout the museum to tell stories behind the exhibits and artifacts that trace Infantry history from 1775 to the present. There will be documentaries shown in the Giant Screen Theater, popcorn and drink at the Rally Point Canteen and a session on the Down Range Combat Simulators-all free. Plus a Maneuver Center of Excellence robotics demonstration on the Courtyard, boot camp with Kelly’s Zeroes, tanks and armored vehicles in the parking lot and helicopters on the parade field, live music by the MCoE band, a parachute jump by the Silver Wings, a climbing wall, uniform dress-up room for kids and much more. Food will be available for purchase in an outdoor food court, the Fife and Drum restaurant and the Rally Point Canteen. Coolers, grills and pets are not permitted. Weapons are prohibited. Bag checks and wand scans will be conducted. Bags larger than 11” x 6” x 15” are not permitted inside the museum or on the museum campus.

Pink Ice Educational Ball
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Rho Rho Omega chapter will host its 20th annual fundraising event, the “Pink Ice Educational Ball” Saturday, April 7 at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center. Fort Benning Golf Cart Sale
The Fort Benning Golf Course will sell used golf carts from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., February 21 while supplies last at the Golf Course, 390 Baltzell Avenue. The sale will be open exclusively to active duty soldiers and their spouses and retired soldiers and their spouses until 11:30 a.m. and to the public thereafter. Preview the carts 9 a.m.-Noon, Februaruy 20. Acceptable forms of payment include cash, credit and debit, and a personal check if accompanied by a bank letter guaranteeing funds.
