The Strand announces cast of Footloose

The Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre, 117 N. Park Square NE in Marietta, has announced the cast of Footloose.

The musical, running May 15 to June 7, will feature Russell Scott as Ren McCormack, Meghan Gray as Ariel Moore, Adam Sechelski as Reverend Shaw Moore, Rachel Miller as Vi Moore, Vivian Waye as Rusty, Joseph Sherer as Willard Hewitt, Jeanna Terry as Ethel McCormack, Josh Hudson as Chuck Cranston, Jalyn Bentley as Urleen and Anna Wooley as Wendy Jo. The Ensemble will feature Jordan Renee Ward, Lance McDougall, Maya Simmons, Jude Hilton, Hugo Barbuto, Gina DeLise and Joseph Evans II.

When Ren McCormack and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he quickly discovers that dancing has been banned by the local preacher in the wake of a tragedy that left the community grieving. As Ren challenges the rules and forms an unexpected connection with the preacher's rebellious daughter, tensions rise and long-buried grief surfaces, forcing the community to confront what they fear and what they hope for.
