Marietta woman accused of running man over with her car
A Marietta woman is facing charges after police say she ran over a man with her car in the early morning hours Thursday.
Katia Chantel Brooks, 31, is accused of running over the victim, identified as Willie Wimby, with her vehicle with the intent to murder.
The alleged incident occurred at approximately 2:10 a.m. Thursday in the parking lot of the Laurel Hills Preserve Apartments complex, located at 1955 Bells Ferry Road NE, in north Cobb.
Police say Brooks used her vehicle to run over Wimby, which resulted in Wimby receiving two visible bloody lacerations on his arm and knee.
The incident also left Brooks' vehicle with multiple bloody hand marks on the front, the warrant reads.
It is unclear from the warrant how fast the vehicle was traveling and does not suggest a potential motive.
Brooks was arrested the morning of the incident and charged with one count of aggravated assault (intent to murder), a felony.
She was booked at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, where she remains in custody without bond.
