Georgia Furniture Mart going out of business, closing both locations
Georgia Furniture Mart is going out of business after furnishing homes throughout the metro area for four decades.
Final liquidation at the Norcross and Kennesaw stores will open to the public July 16.
Georgia Furniture Mart was founded by Michael Hall in 1986 as Underpriced Furniture and was rebranded to its current name in 2020. The flagship Norcross store has been a fixture in the community for 40 years with its 92,000-square-feet of showroom space and an attached 20,000-square-foot outlet store.
In the same year of the rebrand to Georgia Furniture Mart, Hall and his business partner Tim Padden, opened a distribution center in Tucker, enabling the company to offer next-day delivery services. Georgia Furniture Mart continued expansion in 2024 with the opening of its second showroom in Kennesaw.
For 40 years, Hall and Padden have also given back to the community through ongoing support of veteran's organizations, youth programs, St. Jude and other local charitable initiatives.
"We are deeply thankful to everyone who has been part of this journey and entrusted us with their homes," said Hall. "While this chapter is coming to a close, the memories and relationships we've built will always remain."
Georgia Furniture Mart's final sales open to the public July 16 at: 6694 Dawson Boulevard in Norcross and 860 Cobb Place Boulevard NW, No. 106 in Kennesaw.
During the liquidation, deep discounts will be offered on a wide variety of furniture for every room in the home. Complete living room, dining room and bedroom sets, along with heirloom rugs from around the world will be priced to move quickly.
