The hole, caused by the failure of a 24-inch sewer pipe, will force the closure of a section of Victory Drive near 25th Street, not far from the Georgia National Guard Armory, said Columbus Police Maj. The closed section of Victory Drive will reopen to all traffic this evening by 8 p.m. following the completion of emergency sewer main repair work by the Columbus Water Works, according to a press release from the Water Works.

The road was closed on January 3, after a large sanitary sewer main collapsed on Victory Drive in the east bound lane.
