Global credit-card and payments processor TSYS said Tuesday it has inked a contract extension with Edinburgh, Scotland-based Tesco Bank.

Columbus-based TSYS said it will “support” the bank’s credit-card operation in the United Kingdom. That includes “full customer account management services” on the TS2 platform. Tesco’s customers amount to 8.1 million accounts and insurance policies, it said.

Terms of the deal with Tesco, which was launched in 1997, were not disclosed.

“TSYS has proven itself as the right partner for Tesco Bank as we continue to look for new and innovative ways to grow and improve our credit card business,” David McCreadie, Tesco Bank managing director, said in a statement.
