Sherwin-Williams paint store opens next door to Wynnton Hardware

Those Columbus residents needing to slap a coat or two of paint on their home or business this fall now have a new Sherwin-Williams store in the midtown area of the city as an option.

A location has just opened at 2306 Wynnton Road in Columbus. That’s right next door to Wynnton Hardware, which has been open since 1947 and today offers more than 15,000 items for the home and garden.

Work began on the 4,000-square-foot Sherwin-Williams store in late April, with a city building permit showing $524,000 was spent on construction alone. It is among more than 4,000 locations in 120 countries. The company dates to its 1866 founding by Henry Sherwin and Edward Williams.

The paint and coatings retailer is now seeking employees in Columbus. The chain also has stores on Milgen Road and Challenger Court in Columbus, and on U.S. Highway 280 in Phenix City.
