Free Shipping Day on the way with delivery by Christmas Eve
There’s Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday — with the retail industry having even promoted a Cyber Week this year.
Now there’s a “Free Shipping Day,” which is scheduled for Dec. 15, with potentially 1,000 or more retailers expected to serve up special discounts to go along with the free shipping. The Free Shipping Day has apparently been around a decade. Who knew?
Retailers taking part this year include Bass Pro Shops, Target, Kohl’s, JCPenney, Belk, GNC, Barnes & Noble, Chico’s, Dell, Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic and plenty of others you may or may not know. Free Shipping Day organizers, citing comScore, said the promotion generated just under $1 billion in online sales a year ago.

Free Shipping Day begins at 12:01 a.m. on Dec. 15, with any special offers revealed that day. According to the event website, the day includes free shipping with no minimum purchase amount and delivery by Christmas Eve, which falls on a Sunday this year.
