Specialty coffee shop in north Columbus to close doors at end of month. Here’s more.

After eight months in business, a specialty coffee shop at the Old Town development in north Columbus is closing its doors.

Cafe Motif owner Jaime Arraya confirmed Wednesday that the store will close at the end of February. He did not give a reason for the closing.

A letter sent to patrons of the store thanked “all who supported loyally and continue to believe in our concept.”

“We continue moving forward, in search of ways we can add to the dialogue of specialty coffee and food, chasing opportunities that will allow us to grow, evolve and innovate,” the letter says.

In June, Arraya said the mission of the cafe was to serve “exceptional coffee every day.” He co-owns the business with wife Natalie and longtime friend Jeshua Perez.

Arraya said Wednesday he has no current plans to reopen the shop in another location.
