An ‘Exclusives’ boutique is opening on Broadway this weekend. Here’s a peek inside.
A new boutique is bringing retail back to an uptown Columbus space formerly occupied by a sports specialty store.
Uptown Exclusives is celebrating its grand opening 11 a.m. Saturday at 1025 Broadway.
Ride On Bikes owner Jason McKenzie purchased the building and updated it after Outside World Columbus shut its doors in December 2018.
In January, McKenzie said he envisioned a tenant for the building that would add to the experience of uptown and not compete with other businesses.
Now in just a matter of weeks, the boutique owners have completely transformed the lofty space, and co-owner Brooke Wesley says she’s excited to join the uptown business scene.
“We love the vibes and the feel of uptown Columbus and feel we will be a really great part,” she said. “We’re excited to really partner up with different retailers.”
Providing top-notch customer service is the biggest priority, Wesley said.
“Making people feel like they’re at home when they come in, knowing that they’re going to get the perfect gift for whoever they’re shopping for, and that we’re going to take care of them,” she said.
The bottom floor of the space is dedicated to the boutique, and the owners have plans to turn the top floor into a community wellness studio in the coming weeks.
Wesley co-owns the boutique with Darlene Stephens, who owned Stephens Exclusives boutique in LaGrange before the move to open the new business in Columbus.
Brands offered at the boutique include Pandora Jewelry, Kendra Scott Jewelry, Free People clothing, HOBO leather bags, Spartina 449, Quay Australia sunglasses, Slumberkins, Cuddle + Kind and more.
The first 50 customers on Saturday will receive swag bags and there will be giveaways throughout the day, including one for a free Pandora bracelet, Wesley said.
The store hours are currently 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 12-5 p.m. Sundays.
