Here’s how Columbus businesses are helping healthcare workers during COVID-19
Several Columbus-area restaurants and businesses are showing their appreciation to healthcare workers during the coronavirus outbreak by donating food and meals.
The Facebook group “What’s happening in Columbus, GA” recently donated $700 to Chicken Salad Chick’s “Feeding the Front Lines” initiative, according to a Facebook post. Chicken Salad Chick has been delivering meals to workers like nurses and doctors on the front lines of the pandemic.
The group’s money helped fund meals for workers at local hospitals.
Trevioli Italian Kitchen, located at 7466 Blackmon Road in Columbus, is donating meals to hospitals in the area as well. According to their Facebook page, for every family-style dinner purchased, Trevioli will match the order and deliver it to a hospital of the buyer’s choice. The restaurant announced Sunday it would close the week of April 13 and re-open on April 21.
Bare Roots Bibb Café & Catering had a similar offer called “Buy 2, Give 1.” According to their Facebook page, for every two meals purchased, one meal is donated to a local healthcare worker.
Law firms Butler Wooten & Peak also stepped up during the outbreak. The firm, who is also delivering meals to Atlanta-area and Savannah-area ER and ICU teams, is accepting Venmo and checks for Columbus-area deliveries.
Those wishing to donate via Venmo should send the money to handle @BWPCares. Checks can be made out to BWP Cares and mailed to PO BOX 2766 Columbus, GA 31902, according to their Facebook group.
On either donation, just make a note that you want it to go toward a meal purchase in Columbus, rather than Atlanta or Savannah.
