Need a job because of coronavirus? These Columbus area employers are hiring

Searching for a new job isn’t easy in normal circumstances, so finding one in the middle of a global pandemic when millions across the U.S. have been laid off can seem like an impossible task.

Those cities include Columbus, Albany, Lagrange and Newnan, among others, as well as Alabama cities Phenix City, Opelika, Auburn, Smiths Station and Valley.

The comprehensive list can be viewed at goodwillsr.org/work. Jobs are sorted by city and links to apply to the jobs are provided. Employers hiring in Columbus include:

The DOL website also has the most up-to-date information on filing for unemployment and what resources are available to those who have been laid off due to COVID-19.

For rent, utility and food assistance as well as assistance with other basic needs, area residents can call United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley’s 24-hour call line, 211, to be connected with a representative who can direct them to local resources.
