List of Columbus businesses approved for at least $1M in Paycheck Protection Program

Editor’s note: The Ledger-Enquirer has edited this article to clarify and correct that all of the companies listed were approved for Paycheck Protection Program loans created by the Small Business Administration. Each company had to request the funds once they were approved in order to receive them. In particular, the original story said Mainsail Parent LLC received a loan, but a spokesperson says that while the company was approved for a loan, it did not file paperwork to receive it.

The U.S. Small Business Association and the Treasury Department released details on Monday about the nearly 4.9 million loans approved for businesses under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) so far.

The PPP was established as part of Congress’ $2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to help keep small businesses afloat during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Bloomberg News, Monday’s release reflects loans totaling almost $521.5 billion, which were approved between the launch of the program on April 3 and June 30, when the SBA temporarily stopped accepting new applications. Congress voted last week to extend the program until Aug. 8, and it reopened Monday morning, Bloomberg reported.

Detailed information was released for businesses that were approved for over $150,000, but the names and addresses of the businesses that were approved for less than that were not released in the data.

269 Columbus businesses were approved for at least $150,000 in loans. 27 of those were approved for at least $1 million.

Here’s a list of the Columbus organizations that were approved for at least $1 million in loans, as well as the number of jobs the loan supported. A full database of local organizations can be found here.
