A Columbus resident is among the state’s top emerging community leaders, according to Georgia Trend magazine’s inclusion of her on its annual “40 Under 40” list.

Raveeta Addison Moore, 38, a project manager for Global Payments company TSYS in Columbus, began her career with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Chattahoochee Valley after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Columbus State University in 2017.

Moore’s community service activities listed by Georgia Trend are chairing the Character Breakfast fundraiser for the Junior League, serving on the Women United Board for the United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley, volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House and being active with the Urban League Young Professionals. She was a member of the training program Leadership Georgia class of 2020-2021.

“I’ve always had a love for serving the community,” she told the magazine.

The Georgia Trend staff selects the 40 Under 40 from nominations submitted by its readers.

“These outstanding people come from every corner of Georgia and represent the nonprofit, healthcare and legal sectors, large corporations and startup entrepreneurial ventures,” the magazine said. “As important as their day jobs are, however, they also find time to volunteer and give back to strengthen and grow the communities around them.”

CSU’s news release about Moore’s honor also mentions her volunteering for Easter Seals of West Georgia and the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce.

Moore led a TSYS team project to collect school supplies for disadvantaged children in Georgia and Alabama. The donation through the United Way “Stuff the Bus” program provided supplies for 1,173 children, according to the news release.

She was the first recipient of the Phil Tomlinson Heart of Total System Services Award, which was created in 2015 to honor the retired chairman and CEO of TSYS and his “personification of selfless service to others and the community,” the news release says.

Columbus and the Valley magazine selected Moore for its 2016 “5 Under 40” list.
