Shopping on Black Friday? Here’s a guide on Columbus retail hours, deals
It’s almost Thanksgiving, which means it’s almost time for turkey, green bean casserole and football.
It’s also almost time for the annual day during which millions flock to retailers and stores nationwide to find the best deals: Black Friday.
With COVID-19 changing the retail world, this year’s unofficial shopping holiday has more online options than in previous years when big box stores offered Black Friday sales before the turkey could even be cut.
And yet, many stores around the area will welcome shoppers this Friday. The Ledger-Enquirer has complied a few for those wishing to get their shopping fix.
Peachtree Mall
The Peachtree Mall will not be open on Thanksgiving Day, according to its website.
It will open 9 a.m. on Black Friday.

Walmart
Walmart will once again hold its Black Friday Deals for Days events, according to its Black Friday ads. The event began Nov. 10.
Stores open at 5 a.m. local time, with Black Friday sales starting online Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. EST. Walmart Plus members will have early access to deals at 3 p.m. ET on Nov. 22.

Target
Retail giant Target is closed on Thanksgiving, but most stores will open at 7 a.m. local time Friday.
Target’s Black Friday sale starts in stores and online on Nov. 21 and ends on Nov. 27, with some deals available online-only on Thanksgiving Day.

Best Buy
Best Buy, like other national retailers, is offering Black Friday deals before Turkey Day.
The electronics retailer’s official Black Friday sale began Nov. 19 and ends Nov. 28. All deals are available both in-store and online.

Kohl’s
Kohl’s is closed on Thanksgiving, but stores open extra early on Black Friday.
The retailer is hosting two days of “super deals,” according to its Black Friday ad, beginning online Nov. 25, and in-store-and-online Nov. 26. Stores open at 5 a.m. local time.

Macy’s
Macy’s Black Friday sales start Nov. 23 and run through Nov. 27. Like other retailers, stores are closed on Thanksgiving.

JCPenney
JCPenney is closed on Thanksgiving. Doors open early Friday morning and the retailer is starting its Black Friday sales early.
JCPenney’s 2021 Black Friday sale starts on Nov. 26 and ends on Nov. 28.

Academy Sports + Outdoors
Sports, outdoor and athletic wear retailer Academy Sports + Outdoors is closed Thanksgiving but will run its annual Black Friday sale before Turkey Day.
Academy Sports + Outdoors Black Friday sale started on Nov. 21 and ends Nov. 27, according to its Black Friday ad.
And the retailer’s locations open early Friday morning for those wanting to splurge on outdoor gear.
