Nonic, a popular downtown Columbus restaurant, will move from the 1200 block of Broadway to a newly-constructed space at Highside Market on 13th Street.

Nonic’s new location will be at Highside’s 207 Building, a 7,980 square-foot space that features a patio area and a rooftop deck. The restaurant’s menu will expand, and Nonic will also offer weekend brunch. The new location will continue to heavily feature regional draft beers, but diners can also expect expansive cocktail offerings.

The restaurant’s owners and The Cotton Companies, a local real estate development and investment firm headed by Chris Woodruff, announced the move in a news release Thursday. The new space could open in late fall.

“Nonic has been a community staple and favorite of Columbus visitors for years, but we always wanted to do more with the concept,” Robert Battle, partner and co-owner of Nonic said in a statement. “Highside Market will allow us to highlight the most special aspects of the Nonic brand and give it what it deserves to grow and evolve properly, while giving our community what they need and deserve in a truly great food and beverage experience. We couldn’t be more excited to take this next step.”

Battle, along with Columbus natives Miles Greathouse, Chad Scrimpshire and Garrett Lawrence, also own and operate Jarfly and Maltitude.

Located at 13th Street and 2nd Avenue, Highside Market is mix of new construction and preserved structures dating back to 1939. The 55,000 square foot space is expected to include 20,000 square feet of restaurant space, 20,000 square feet of retail, 15,000 square feet of office space, a green space and outdoor lounge areas.

The Ledger-Enquirer previously reported on one of the market’s new tenants. Cleaver & Cork, an upscale butcher and artisan market, is set to open in summer 2022.

“The Nonic team has developed a stronghold of creative drinks and food, plus a lively environment that people are simply drawn to,” Woodruff said in a statement. “With the relocation to Highside Market, their kitchen will almost triple in size and with the addition of a new adjacent patio space and rooftop deck, their team will be able to bring that same fun, relaxed and incredible dining experience to more people every day.”
