Synovus is closing one of its Columbus branches at the end of the year. What to know

Synovus will close its Peachtree Mall branch at the end of the year, according to a statement sent to the Ledger-Enquirer.

The branch, located at 3261 Manchester Expressway, will close on Dec. 30, and a Synovus spokesperson encouraged clients who need in-person assistance to visit the bank’s Midtown or Midland branches instead. Synovus clients can also use My Synovus online and mobile banking services, which are available 24/7.

Although the branch will be closed, a spokesperson said, Synovus will offer full-service ATM banking on-site.

“As branch banking continues to evolve with changing client behaviors and preferences, we’re constantly assessing our branch network to ensure we deliver convenience and efficiency,” the statement read.

This news comes as the bank also prepares to move about half of its employees into a new downtown development. It will be the first major tenant moving into the W.C. Bradley Company’s Riverfront Place.

Synovus is set to announce its third quarter earnings next Thursday.
