Here’s why this downtown Columbus restaurant has permanently closed its doors

Downtown Columbus restaurant Vertigo Fusion Kitchen has closed its doors permanently.

The restaurant opened in 2019 and was located next door to The Black Cow on 12th Street. Its original owners hoped the area would become Columbus’ version of Hell’s Kitchen.

Featuring dishes influenced by Mexican, Asian, American and other cuisines from around the world, street corn dip was one of the restaurant’s most popular items.

Vertigo was sold to new owners in January 2022, and closed for a week last fall for a remodel.

The business was unable to generate enough revenue to continue staying open, owner Niki Gedroic confirmed with the Ledger-Enquirer.

Vertigo officially closed on April 28.
