Chicken Salad Chick to open a Phenix City location as part of chain’s expansion
A new Chicken Salad Chick location will be coming to Phenix City later this year.
The restaurant will be located off U.S. Highway 280 in a shopping center near Pizza Hut and State Farm across the street from Aldi.
Owner David Harris has been looking to open a location in Phenix City for a long time, spokesperson Leanne Balsam told the Ledger-Enquirer, and the Highway 280 location is convenient for both locals and travelers.
“We have been listening to our guests,” Balsam said. “They have been requesting a location in Phenix City for a long time.”
It has been a difficult time to try and expand the business, she said, but things fell in the right place at the right time.
This will be the first Chicken Salad Chick location in Phenix City. There are already two other locations in the region with one in Columbus on Airport Thruway and the other in Midland.
“Our Columbus-based organization currently owns eight Chicken Salad Chick locations in the South,” Balsam said. “And are thrilled to open two more this year.”
There will be a celebration the week of the Grand Opening, she said. The first guest in line will win chicken salad for a year, and there will be more opportunities for prizes during the event. More details on these giveaways will be released as the opening approaches.
Chicken Salad Chick specializes in Southern-style chicken salad and offers more than 12 hand-made flavors daily.
“You can expect all the same amazing flavors and sides that we currently serve at our other locations,” Balsam said.
About Chicken Salad Chick
Georgia native Stacy Brown founded the restaurant franchise after developing a chicken salad recipe to support her family. Brown, who had been a stay-at-home mom, began selling her recipe from her home to neighbors and friends.
After getting positive feedback, she dropped off samples of the chicken salad in teachers’ lounges, hair salons and sold it door-to-door.
When the health department informed her that selling food in this way was not legal, Brown opened up the first Chicken Salad Chick restaurant in Auburn in 2008.
Today the fast-growing chain has over 225 restaurants across the South, according to its website, and is planning to open 250 more across the nation in 2023.
“It is thanks to our amazing guests over the years who have made it possible for us to have this opportunity to serve our market more fully,” Balsam said. “We are thrilled to see our regulars and welcome new ones as well.”
