Gourmet cinnamon rolls, brownies & more. Check out this new chain bakery in Columbus

Kimberly and Phillip Farley were ready for their next stage in life after raising their family in Columbus for the past 25 years.

One day they received a call from Phillip’s sister.

“I just had the best cinnamon roll of my life,” she told them.

After her sister-in-law lauded the pastry from Cinnaholic, Kimberly decided to peruse the website and came to a realization.

“I just knew that this was it,” she said.

She and Phillip joined the franchise and will open the gourmet cinnamon roll bakery, Cinnaholic, on March 22 in Midland Commons near the Publix.

When construction began on Midland Commons, Kimberly felt in her spirit she wanted to operate a business in the development near her home. After seeing the diversity of Cinnaholic’s menu, she could envision the opportunity.

“I could absolutely see my husband and my daughter making the first purchase,” Kimberly said. “And I just felt like the Lord really opened the doors for that.”

The Farleys spent the past year working with Cinnaholic to bring the franchise to Columbus. They hired 20 staff positions, Kimberly said, and the process was easier than expected.

“That’s another great thing about opening a bakery, right?” she said. “You want to be around things that are sweet and happy.”

All of Cinnaholic’s products are vegan, dairy & lactose-free, egg-free and cholesterol-free, according to their website. The bakery offers create-your-own cinnamon rolls and other treats like brownies, cookies and edible cookie dough.

“We make them fresh daily from scratch,” Kimberly said.

After becoming interested in Cinnaholic, Kimberly took a road trip with her daughter and a friend to the nearest location in Warner Robins. They tried almost everything available, and the edible cookie dough was a surprise standout for Kimberly.

“The cookie dough was so good it made me want to slap my Mama,” she said.

Eager Cinnaholic customers can get $2 cinnamon rolls from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the grand opening next Friday, Kimberly said. And people can enjoy music, activities and other prizes to celebrate the occasion.

“When you walk through this door, we’re going to treat you with love and kindness,” she said. “And you’re going to get that treatment every single time you come.”
