Write a stellar, creative business plan and win up to $4,500.
That’s what’s at stake as Columbus State University’s Turner College of Business and Computer Science ramps up its business plan competition, which is open to students.
March 14 is the deadline for individuals and teams to register, while the deadline for submitting business plans is April 5. Finalists will be chosen and notified by April 19, with presentations to a panel of judges taking place April 27. Winners will be announced at a luncheon that day.
“The goal is to prepare students to identify and capitalize on entrepreneurial opportunities that will benefit themselves and their community,” said Kirk Heriot, competitor director and CSU’s Ray and Evelyn Crowley Distinguished Chair of Entrepreneurship.
“The competition could produce some creative ideas that lead to new jobs and boost the local economy,” he said.
The grand prize is $4,500, with two first-, second- and third-place winners each receiving $1,500, $1,000 and $500, respectively.
