Two longtime Columbus Bank & Trust executives have been promoted to senior vice presidents of the bank.
Guy “Len” Sexton and Luther Rutledge both are in the financial services realm of the largest bank in the Columbus market.
Sexton, who has been with the company since 1973, is executive vice president and vice chairman of Synovus Securities Inc. He has been with the securities department since 1984 and is a financial consultant and licensed insurance/annuity agent. For nearly a decade, he has been on the bank’s Chairman’s Council.
Rutledge, who has been with the company since 1999, is also a financial consultant and licensed insurance/annuity agent. His honors include the Synovus President’s Club and the Chairman’s Council. He also has received the CB&T “All-Star” Award and was a Synovus WINGS recipient. He retired from the U.S. Army as a first sergeant.

The promotions were announced by CB&T President and Chief Executive Officer Billy Blanchard, who praised the two for their “knowledge, experience and commitment” to excellent customer service and for their respected leadership at the bank.
CB&T has 15 branches and 70 ATMs in the Columbus market.
