Church’s Chicken wraps up Columbus-area renovations

Church’s Chicken said Friday it has wrapped up renovations at four of its Columbus-Phenix City outlets, with plans to celebrate starting Sunday.

The Atlanta-based fast-food chain said the local eateries are only the second market in the U.S. — Albuquerque, N.M., is the other — to receive a “contemporary” makeover inside and out, including new colors, seating options and artwork. There also are new digital menu boards inside.

That calls for something special, the company said, at the renovated locations — 1821 South Lumpkin Road, 4256 Buena Vista Road and 1805 Hamilton Road in Columbus, and 1306 U.S. Highway 280 bypass in Phenix City.

Those customers who visit the outlets Sunday through Aug. 9 will have the chance to win a pair of Beats headphones, a $100 Walmart gift card and a free two-piece chicken and biscuit meal weekly for the rest of this year. Special food offers also are planned.

The company also said it will donate a portion of proceeds during the week to House of Heroes in Columbus, a program that makes improvements to homes of military and public safety veterans and their spouses.
