‘Hard decision.’ Local Columbus seafood restaurant closes doors after 6 years of business

A Columbus seafood restaurant that brought a taste of the Gulf coast to the area has now closed after six years of business.

Bluewater Grill, located at 4640 Warm Springs Road, announced its closure on the restaurant’s Facebook page Friday.

The post thanked people for their support over the years.

“The hard decision to close our doors has come due to various reasons beyond our control and the unexpected health challenges over the last 14 months certainly didn’t help,” the post said.

“So, with that we will turn the page and hope that the future will be bright,” the post says.

The post garnered over 200 comments, mainly from patrons expressing grief for the restaurant’s closing.

Julie Sniffen commented, “Wish we could’ve known sooner so we could get one last meal and say farewell!”

Marian Bellamy commented, “Heartbreaking news! That place has the best oysters in town and I’m really going to miss it! Sending prayers!”

The restaurant opened in Spring 2018 and included menu items such as the Bluewater Char-Roasted Oysters, Shrimp Pompano and Grouper Panama, the Ledger-Enquirer reported.
