On the move: Harriet Langford appointed to Troup County Center for Strategic planning board
Harriet Langford, foundation trustee and daughter of the late Ray C. Anderson, has been elected to serve on the board of directors for the Troup County Center for Strategic Planning.
The Center for Strategic Planning is an independent nonprofit corporation, located at the Troup County Government Center in LaGrange, Ga., organized to carry out initiatives set forth in Troup County's strategic plan.
"We are very excited to have Harriet on our board," Kathryn Tilley, executive director of the center, said in a statement. "The foundation is a significant player in the county's strategic growth and Harriet's insight will be valuable as we continue to move forward."
Since the dedication of the Ray C. Anderson Memorial Highway in 2014, Langford has been working with the Georgia Conservancy, Georgia Tech's School of Architecture, Interface, Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the Georgia Department of Transportation, as well as the cities of LaGrange and West Point, to create direction for the Mission Zero Corridor.
The Mission Zero Corridor is the embodiment of Ray Anderson's legacy in a 16-mile stretch of Interstate 85 in Troup County, the center said, with the potential to put the local community on the global map for its proposed advances in innovation and technology, with a commitment to make it the safest, cleanest, most sustainable stretch of highway in the world.
