Aflac signs 7-year deal with new National Women’s Soccer League club in Atlanta
Columbus-based Aflac has entered a seven-year deal with AMB Sports and Entertainment, making Aflac the front-of-kit partner of the National Women’s Soccer League Atlanta 2028, according to a news release.
The amount of money Aflac has agreed to pay for the sponsorship wasn’t disclosed.
The NWSL awarded its 17th franchise to Atlanta in November 2025. Atlanta’s club is owned by Arthur Blank, who also owns the Atlanta Falcons, and is operated by AMBSE.
Atlanta’s women’s soccer club is scheduled to debut in 20 and will play its matches in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
As part of the partnership, a portion of the net proceeds from the NWSL Atlanta 2028’s apparel line will be donated to the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the news release says, and patients will receive a plush Aflac Duck with the NWSL Atlanta jersey.
“Aflac and AMBSE have shown that together, we can have a profound impact on the national sports landscape, while also making a difference in the places where we work and serve,” Aflac Incorporated and Aflac U.S. president Virgil Miller said in the news release. “Aflac is honored to continue our partnership with AMBSE and help build NWSL Atlanta 2028 into a world-class organization that will positively influence our community and the rapidly growing base of women’s sports fans.”
Blank thanked Miller and Aflac for their work in building and continuing a partnership.
“Our businesses share a fundamental value – the importance of giving back to the community,” Blank said in the news release. “And I’m extremely proud that this partnership will benefit the patients at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. We are grateful to have Aflac on board as we continue laying the foundation of NWSL Atlanta 2028.”
The initial stages of developing a name and brand identity for Atlanta’s women’s soccer club is ongoing, and soccer fans from the city and state will have direct input on the decision, according to the news release.
There is no timeline for that process to be completed, the news release says.
